Chairman

Ed Williams

Ed has been a Non-Executive Director of Auto Trader since November 2010 and Chairman since March 2014. He was founding Chief Executive of Rightmove plc, serving in that capacity from November 2000 until his retirement from the business in April 2013.
Rightmove pls was floated on the London Stock Exchange in February 2006. Prior to Rightmove, Ed spent the majority of his career as a management consultant with Accenture and McKinsey & Co.
Ed holds an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from St Anne's College, Oxford.

Chief Executive Officer

Trevor Mather

Trevor joined Auto Trader as Chief Executive Officer in June 2013. Previously, Trevor was President and CEO of ThoughtWorks, a global IT and software consulting company. Trevor joined Thoughtworks in 2001, to kick start the UK branch of the Company and then took responsibility for all international operations before becoming CEO in 2007. He helped oversee the business grow from a 300 person North American Company to a 2,200 person global business with operations in 29 cities around the world with a particular personal focus on helping businesses become truly digital. Before his time at Thoughtworks, Trevor spent almost ten years at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) focusing on e-business solutions. Trevor holds an M.Eng. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Southampton University.

Independent Non-Executive Director

Jill Easterbrook

Jill was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board on 1 July 2015. Jill is currently the CEO of Boden, following her appointment in February 2017. Jill was previously a member of the Executive Committee at Tesco PLC where she was most recently the Group Business Transformation Director. She joined Tesco in 2001 and held a variety of strategic and operational leadership roles. She has run a number of multichannel businesses within Tesco including UK and ROI Clothing and the Developing Businesses division. Jill started her career at Marks & Spencer in buying and merchandising and also spent time as a management consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

Independent Non-Executive Director

David Keens

David was appointed as a Non-Executive Director, and to the Audit Committee of Auto Trader on 1 May 2015. David was previously Group Finance Director of NEXT plc (1991 - 2015) and its Group Treasurer (1986 - 1991). David’s previous management experience includes nine years in the UK and overseas operations of multinational food manufacturers Nabisco (1977 - 1986) and prior to that seven years in the accountancy profession.
David is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Independent Non-Executive Director

Jeni Mundy

Jeni was appointed as a Non-Executive Director on 1 March 2016. Jeni is the Enterprise Product Director for Vodafone Group and is responsible for the strategy, delivery and lifecycle management of the Business product portfolio worldwide. Jeni started her career as a Radio Engineer with BellSouth in New Zealand and has been with Vodafone since 1998. Her roles have included five years as Chief Technology Officer (‘CTO’) in New Zealand managing IT and the mobile network, five years as the Vodafone UK CTO and a year leading the Northern Europe Sales team for multi-national customers. Jeni holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering from University of Wales.

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Nathan Coe

Nathan was appointed to the Board as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in April 2017 and as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in July 2017. Nathan joined Auto Trader in 2007 to oversee the transition from a magazine business to being a pure digital company. He was responsible for launching a number of new business areas, and led the company’s early entry and subsequent growth in mobile and online. For the past two years, Nathan has been the joint Operations Director, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the business.

Prior to joining Auto Trader, Nathan was at Telstra, Australia's leading telecommunications company, where he led Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Development for its media and internet businesses. He was previously a consultant at PwC, having graduated from the University of Sydney with a B.Com. (Hons).

Customer Experience Director

Marc McNeill

Marc joined Auto Trader in 2013 to champion customer experience. Marc works with Alison Ross leading Customer Experience and Operations, focused on the continuous improvement of processes, systems and touch-points, to enable effortless interactions with Auto Trader and simplify the way we do business with our customers. Prior to joining the Company he worked for uSwitch where he led a digital marketing and development team to build personal finance solutions, including a new car insurance proposition. Marc was also a consultant at ThoughtWorks where he built the Global Experience Design Practice, helping clients build products that their customers love. Marc’s digital career began at Accenture where he helped set up and run the Interactive Design Group and he has previously worked for DfID in Ghana, improving technology transfer to rural communities. Co-author of the book Agile Experience Design, Marc holds a PhD in Human Factors.

Customer Experience & Operations Director

Alison Ross

Alison joined Auto Trader in 2002 and led technology and operations teams responsible for business systems and the website infrastructure throughout the transition from print to online. Alison now works with Marc McNeill leading Customer Experience and Operations, a cross functional team bringing together technology, operations, service and sales expertise to focus on the continuous improvement of processes, systems and touch-points in order to promote effortless interactions with our customers. Alison also works with Jason Biffin to shape the progressive culture and environment at Auto Trader, ensuring the attraction, development and retention of a talented, engaged and diverse workforce is second to none in the industry. Alison serves on both the Board and on the elected council of Manchester Digital, the independent trade association for the thriving digital sector in the North West of England.

Technology Director

Chris Kelly

Chris is responsible for technology at Auto Trader and has worked for the Company for the past 17 years. A software professional, Chris joined Auto Trader in 1998 as a developer in the small team working on the first Auto Trader website. Chris has since been an integral part of the product and technology division throughout the successful transition from print to a fully digital business. He remains passionate about software, and leads a team of architects as well as product development and operational teams. Chris holds a degree in Genetics from Leeds University.

Audience & Brand Director

Naomi Hahn

Naomi is jointly responsible for the audience and brand functions within the business focused on growing both consumer and customer audiences and maintaining a strong sense of brand both internally and externally. She joined Auto Trader in 2007 to build the display advertising sales team; taking sales in-house resulted in significant growth and a market leading programmatic strategy. In 2015, Naomi moved to head up the marketing team leading the brand strategy and influencing new product development. Prior to Auto Trader Naomi worked for advertising.com, a display advertising network where she held various sales leadership roles working with agencies and direct clients on display, ppc and email campaigns, before leaving the Company in the summer of 2007 to take part in the BBC TV show, The Apprentice. Naomi graduated from UCL with a BA in modern European studies with French and Spanish.

Data & Insight Director

Richard Walker

Richard looks after Data and Insight at Auto Trader, overseeing the Company’s Enterprise Data Warehouse and Real Time Data Capability, both of which are used to present performance data to customers through Auto Trader’s Dealer Portal. He is also responsible for the analytics function that analyses data in order to share insights and recommendations that lead to improvements and opportunities for product and sales teams as well as our customers. Having been with the business for 20 years Richard has a range of experience, which includes roles in the UK overseeing the organisation’s research activity, and heading up the Market Intelligence function. Following early involvement in the initial launch of Topmarques.co.uk and autotrader.co.uk he moved into the international division of GMG working in a small team that launched the digital operations for the non-UK automotive classified businesses in several European countries. Richard holds a BA (Hons) in Business Information Management from Leeds and an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Head of FPA & Pricing

Jamie Warner

Jamie, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, joined Auto Trader in 2012. Having held several roles across the finance function with substantial involvement in investor relations and influencing pricing, he now leads commercial finance.
After graduating from Bristol University with a BSc in economics and economic history, Jamie started his career as a derivatives broker. He helped form a market of options as well as brokering ‘over the counter’ derivatives on dry freight contracts. Prior to joining Auto Trader, he worked for online marketplace start-up Swapit, managing its finance and funding requirements.

Manufacturer & Agency Director

Ian Plummer

Ian joined the Company in 2017 and is jointly responsible for the Manufacturer and Agency area of the business. With 20 years of automotive experience with several brands, he is responsible for building meaningful relationships with all UK automotive manufacturers and their partners to enable the development of solutions to drive new value and revenue to them, in both the new and used car space. Previously Ian worked at Volkswagen, where he was Head of Sales Operations in the UK, responsible for all UK Volkswagen passenger car sales as well as the franchise management and commercial programmes. Ian was also the former Managing Director of Renault Retail Group responsible for 25 Renault and Nissan dealerships, and prior to that held various international marketing, after-sales and e-business roles at Renault’s headquarters in Paris. Ian holds a BA (Hons) from Loughborough University in Economics, Politics and French, and an MBA from Theseus Institute in France.

Deputy CFO

Mark George

Mark joined the company in 2017 and is responsible for investor relations, management reporting, finance processes & controls and procurement. Mark has 20 years of experience in Finance, Strategy and Commercial roles, most recently as Commercial Finance Director of online fashion retailer, ASOS plc. Prior to ASOS Mark held a number of director roles at Tesco plc across Finance, Investor Relations, M&A, Strategy and Digital. Mark started his career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company after completing a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University.

Audience & Brand Director

Lei Sorvisto

Lei is co-responsible for the audience and brand functions within the business focused on growing both consumer and customer audiences as well as maintaining a strong sense of brand both internally and externally. She joined Auto Trader in 2017 and has over 15 years of marketing and brand building experience. Lei started her career as a TV reporter in Chinese Center Television Group. Prior to joining Auto Trader, Lei held senior marketing positions with brands including Polar, Expedia and Nokia in Finland, UK and Singapore. Lei graduated from University of Oulu, Finland with a BA in international business and marketing.

Retailer & Consumer Product Director

Karolina Edwards-Smajda

Karolina is jointly responsible (with Jason) for all consumer and retailer products and services at Auto Trader, overseeing product and technology teams. Karolina joined Auto Trader in 2008 having just been awarded a distinction for her MA in Business Management. She joined the Company as a market analyst and within two years became head of data analysis with responsibility for the automotive sector trends and digital market insight for the business. Since then she has held several managerial and director level roles in the strategy and product and technology teams.

Retailer & Consumer Product Director

Jason Biffin

Jason is jointly responsible (with Karolina) for all consumer and retailer products and services at Auto Trader, overseeing product and technology teams. In addition Jason is also responsible for Culture and Environment at Auto Trader. He joined the Company in September 2001 as e-commerce manager, taking responsibility for the brand’s early expansion into the e-commerce market. Jason has since worked in a number of senior commercial roles across the business playing a key role in the Company’s full transition to online. Previously, Jason was with HMV Media Group, working as commercial manager for Waterstone’s Online with responsibility for driving online book sales and traffic to both web and mobile. His track record also includes 10 years at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, where he played a central role in the launch of natwest.com.

UK Group Sales Director

Darren Moon

Darren is jointly responsible (with Le Etta) for the Group’s sales function leading the sales and service teams in their pursuit of becoming trusted partners for our 13,000 independent, supermarket and franchise customers. With over eight years’ experience, Darren joined the Company in 2008 to consolidate the print business before supporting the business in its successful transition to a solely digital business. He works with OEM’s, independent dealers and franchise groups. Prior to joining Auto Trader, he worked in various publishing businesses.

UK Group Sales Director

Le Etta Pearce

Le Etta is jointly responsible (with Darren) for the Group’s sales function, leading the sales and service teams in their pursuit of becoming trusted partners for our 13,000 independent, supermarket and franchise customers. Le Etta joined AutoTrader in December 2014 as Digital Relationship Director, having previously been responsible for heading up the retail division at Manheim.
Her automotive experience ranges from working with retailers, manufacturers and specialist software solution providers, with a track record of driving performance improvement in aftersales and new/used car sales.
Le Etta holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing; Media and Advertising from Bournemouth University.

Digital Advertising Director

Rakesh Patel

Rak joined Auto Trader in August 2013 and is responsible for the Manufacturer and Agency team’s revenue ambitions working alongside Ian Plummer. Over the last four years, Rak and his team have transformed the Manufacturer and Agency business, delivering agile digital marketing solutions to the largest car brands in the world.
Having been in the digital arena for over fourteen years, he has worked closely with the media and creative agency worlds. Starting his digital journey in 2003 at the Financial Times, he helped curate some of the progressive ways of digital thinking at the world-famous publisher. Rak spent his formative years at EMAP (Bauer), holding a number of roles across magazines, exhibitions and classified, all helping to build a strong foundation for his media sales career. More recently he spent seven years in management positions at Microsoft before moving across to Auto Trader.
